Hong Kong Day 3!! The Big Buddha

Day 3 of Hong Kong!! Finally i got the time to post this on my blog. Been lazy these few days and i'm gonna write a short one. HAHAH. Cause i'm going to play L4D2 soon~~ Heheh.

Day 3! We went to the Big Buddha at Ngong Ping, Lantau Island to pray for good health (and pray for my results as well) cause i have nothing to pray for. HAHAH. Before going up the mountain, we went for breakfast at the shopping mall below the foot of the mountain, Citygate Outlets, at this dim sum restaurant. The food there was good but it seemed expensive as well, i kinda felt bad because most of this trip was sponsored by my aunt and my sister was there too. HAHAH. But the food was great! Kinda different from the dim sums in SG, they're more authentic? And i tried something that i didn't try before, CUSTARD BUN!! DAMN, they're good! I wouldn't had tried it if it wasn't for my aunt. HAHAHA.
CUSTARD BUN!!! The only photo i took of breakfast HAHAH
Look at all the custard oozing out!! Tastes the best when it is hot! But might to too hot for some! After breakfast we went up the the mountain the Ngong 360 cable car and the view was fantastic! Reminded me of Genting's cable car!

First photo aboard the cabin!
We took the crystal cabin up so the floor of the cabin was transparent! Totally see through. Awesome experience!!

Look below!

Awesome scenery!!
Reaching the top! The Buddha is right there!!
Once we reached the top, it was much more cooling than at the foot, but because it is summer, it wasn't that cooling either.

The entrance to the Big Buddha complex!
The place was quite big, there were some shops (Starbucks etc.) as well souvenir shops, and there was also a temple other than the Buddha!

HUGE PLAZA

Making our way up the steps!
Getting to the Big Buddha was the hard part, the steps were kinda tough to handle since i've never climbed so many steps before. HAHAH. But once we reached the top, it has a great view!

The Big Buddha!
We stayed a while before getting off the mountain and going back to the hotel, before we went for dinner and the light show at night. But just going on the mountain and visiting the Buddha and the temple made me so freaking tired. I just felt like going back to the hotel and sleep. HAHA. But still i went to the light show with my aunt and cousins before dinner, because if i didn't i couldn't eat. LOL XD Went for the sake of dinner. HAHAH

Well, the light show wasn't that spectacular.
The light show was so so only but it was crowded! Like VERY CROWDED. We had to push our way in and out! But the night view was great! Amazing view of Hong Kong Island. The light show was held at the Avenue of Stars,  where many famous HK celebrities had their hand prints imprinted on the walkway. But i was too crowded to even see the handprints (i couldn't even see my own legs).

Another picture of the HK skyline
The light show was good? I guess, but the music was too soft, making it not so spectacular and it was basically too crowded. Maybe i was too tired that day to enjoy it but it was worth seeing if you haven't seen it yet. Well that's all for my day 3, shall stop here. (going to my room soon, fucking smoker just put his lit cigarettes in my face, asshole)

Foreign "Talent" in Singapore

Okay, so today i'm not going to write about the stuff i normally write on my blog, but i'm just gonna rant here because there's no other platform for me to "say" my thoughts. I've so much to write about since it is about my country, the place where i grew up, the place when my home is. Even before independence, Singapore has been importing/"inviting" foreign labour/expats from everywhere. From the construction sector to the banking sector, FTs are literally everywhere. Even in my school, there are a lot of foreign students. I do not have a prejudice against FTs, because my great grandparents were also "FTs". Many come from different places for a better life for their family and to seek a new life. But i just can't stand those "FTs" that insult the country that they chose to stay in. Calling locals 'poor', insulting our education system, insulting the way we talk, and basically insulting our whole culture.

Don't come here if you want to insult our culture, don't go anywhere, just remain in your own country for the rest of your life if you want to insult other countries. If your country was so good, would you've came? Isn't it expected for FTs to embrace our culture? Since they are the ones that are staying in our home. If you visit someone's home you have to embrace their culture, not the other way round. If there's so much to complain about, fucking go home. I really can't stand those pieces of human trash that think they're more superior because the way our culture works is different from theirs. I swear to god, if i ever meet someone like that i would fucking retaliate back. Pieces of trash.

Okay, now that it is out of my system, i feel so much better.  I really hope those human trash learn to respect the locals(no matter where they go) more and vice versa, only then we can have a harmonious relationship without any insults hurled at each other.

Saturday out! and Timbré

Happy Saturday. Today is the official start of my holidays for this semester!! And i finally went out with my friends. HAHAH. Been weeks since we've hung out together, busy because of the school work and exams. But now it's all over! Get to enjoy another few more weeks before school starts HAHAHA. And i've started working, as a stock taker at NLB! Kinda fun but also tiring. It's extremely tiring if you don't go with your friends. Because everything is better with friends!! HAHA. That sounded so childish. LOL.

Ok. So today, we went to Cathay Cinelesuire to watch If I Stay, the movie that many were talking about, the plot isn't bad, seems original! But maybe not so because it's based on the novel. But, the ending was seriously "WTF" that's what you would say if you watched it. It ended so abruptly, maybe there's a part 2, but if there isn't it's really the weirdest ending ever and the worst! But overall, it's sad and heart warming, the only thing bad is the ending. HAHAH. After that, we went to Timbré, at Clarke Quay, where i had my first cocktail.

Snowball!
I ordered the Snowball, it's not bad for 12 bucks! I think it's the nicest of the cocktails. HAHAH. The alcohol is sweet!! Damn nice i swear, gonna order this the next time i go again! XD

Lychee Mojito
This is what my friend ordered, HAHAH, this is the one of the two only photos i took cause i thought it was too dark and my phone was dying, but the photo looks fine though!! We had pizza with the drinks. HAHAH, it's quite ex in the end cause i ordered two drinks. XD HAHAH. I always end up paying the most due to my greed. HAHAAH. But the experience was good! Sitting by the Singapore River having drinks with friends. HAHAH. This was one of my best experience so far. Hope i'll get to drink more!! HAHAHA.

Now i'm feeling the effects of working at night, think i shall end my post here and go to bed early. XD I KEEP FORGETTING MY HK DAY 3 post. T.T I shall do it tomorrow ;)

Tomorrow's the first and last paper!

So, i'm gonna try and change the way i write my post. Not gonna start off with hello, or hey anymore but i'm just gonna try and start off with a simple sentence. HAHAH.

Alright, so tomorrow's Friday and it's also the first and last exam paper i'm left with for this semester. Although i'm supposed to study now, since i didn't really do any studying the last week, but i just thought i would update a little bit of my life on my online "diary". So, the past few days were a little slack since i didn't do any study which i was supposed to, given that i had 1 week and 4 days to study for 1 paper, i might actually get a distinction if i studied from the start. But laziness got to me since i just completed my projects before the study week, and i just wanted to slack around a bit and thought i would start studying this week. But by this week, i've only finished my notes so far and still hadn't gotten the mood to study. So i thought i would try and write a post so that i could get some motivation to study. HAHAH.

I'm just gonna think of all the consequences if i didn't study enough. I would probably get a B or a C for this paper, and really suck big time in my grades, which WILL definitely result in a big drop from my current CGPA of 3.78, maybe to 3.5 or less, and i'll probably lose the scholarship that i haven't even gotten. (think they're waiting for my results to come out) Okay, now i really feel the need to study after listing everything and thinking about it while i wrote this post. HAHAH. Definitely need to study. Think i'll post about my Day 3 in HK after i finish my paper tomorrow!

Start of revision week!!

Hey!
Posting again! Been posting these few days because i finished my projects! Haven't posted in a while due to projects and i've been very tired these past few weeks. But starting from next week, there will be no more school!! YAY. Revision week starts next week! And i gotta study for my only exam, I HAVE TO GET A 'A' GRADE!!! If not my GPA will really go down hill quick. HAHAH. Let's just hope that i would be able to get at least a B+ for my other subjects, because two of them, is already confirmed to be either a C or a D. T.T Wished i listened at the start of the year that, this semester will be really hard, but there's no use regretting it now. Let's just hope my GPA will be at least 3.5 because, i need that to keep my scholarship. I don't wanna return that money :((

HAHAH. Its the first time i've ever gotten a scholarship based on my results! Really regretting putting a stain on my near prefect 3.8 CGPA score and i still got 3 more semesters to go. I WILL REALLY WORK HARD NEXT SEM if i can get at least a 3.5 this sem. HAHA. Think i'll stop here, using my friend's laptop to write this post and she's coming out of her shower! Bye~

Hong Kong Day 2! Day tour and boat cruise~

T.G.I.F! Friday is here! And i officially ended lessons for the first semester of Year 2 of poly! Well, my results are gonna suck this sem and i know it. Already saw one of the coursework marks, which is 50% of my total result, and i got like 26.9%? Which is a D grade! I'm mentally prepared my GPA is gonna suck big time. Let's just hope i would be able to keep my scholarship. T.T

Okay, enough about the school stuff, i'm gonna write about my day 2 in Hong Kong here! Hopefully, blogger will still be here when i turn 30 years old or something so i can see what the 18 year old me wrote and feel embarrassed. HAHAHA. Ok, Day 2 of Hong Kong, we went on a half day city tour around Hong Kong with a tour guide, and he brought us to many places, even lunch has been included! Which is not bad because you get to travel easily with a tour bus. HAHHA. The first place that we went early in the morning was to eat, too bad i didn't take any photos of the food there! THE FOOD WAS GREAT. Dim sum for early breakfast. HAHA.

After breakfast, the first place we went to was Repulse Bay, where we visited the Tin Hau Temple, where there was this huge statue of Kwum Yam, didn't take much photos there because it was so bright and i couldn't see my screen. But i did take a photo of the Kwum Yam statue in the temple. The quality wasn't bad, taking in consideration that i couldn't see my screen. HAHA.

HUGE!!

After that, we went deeper into the temple where there's this huge sheltered place facing the sea, the view was amazing! So clear and blue but the waters are so dirty, filled with cans, plastic and other waste you can find. Just the the beaches in SG. HAHAHA. Except for Sentosa, the beaches there are REALLY clean!!

Here's a view the ocean!

AMAZING SKY VIEW

Landscape view of the mountain!!! A sight you'll never see in SG
After the tour of the temple was finished, me and my cousins walked around the beach, but i was too hot to go under the sun, it was like 34 degrees that day! So we just found a shade and sat down. HAHAHA. But the sky was clear and the weather was perfect for a dip in the water!! Too bad we didn't bring extra clothes and we still had the city tour going on. HAHA.

Picture of where we sat, still got a great view of the sea from here

There seemed to be a new mall coming up at Repulse Bay! Hope i can visit Hong Kong again when the mall opens. HAHAH. I LOVE MALLS. So cooling and so many nice clothes that i can't buy. XD After Repulse Bay, we went for a boat ride around Aberdeen Harbour, where we saw the floating Jumbo Restaurant!! Think i saw it on TV before but it was my first time seeing it!! SO COOL.

View from my side of the boat

There's the huge Jumbo Restaurant!
Wish i could eat there some other time, since it's a restaurant! HAHA. But i bet it'll be expensive and there's a huge amount of people that day. LOL. Well, next, we went further down the river and saw the boat houses that people still live in! So unique! Never seen a boathouse before, HAHAH, but i did see some in The Sims 3 :X HAHAH.

Talking about sea view, those people living there must be lucky.

Here are some of the boats with the city skyline. Uniquely Hong kong. HAHAH

Well, after the boat cruise was lunch and after lunch was the bus tour around the city, which i slept through, HAHAH. Didn't get a chance to take photos. Was too tired to do so as well. Felt extremely sleepy after the lunch. HAHA :X Well, that's all i did for Day 2, after that we went back to the hotel to freshen up and rest a bit before going for dinner around the hotel. AND the dinner place wasn't good, the person that served us has bad service. Told us not to sit there, not to sit here because we'll be blocking the walkways between the tables. Well, they put a chair there for people to sit right? Don't fucking put a chair there if you don't want anyone to sit there. Luckily the boss said it was okay, and so we sat down. Felt like slapping that guy. The food there wasn't that good too, the fried rice was fucking cold! It's like they never cooked it! It was even warm. Will never go back there again. Felt blessed to have our food courts which are so much better than that restaurant.

Think i shall stop here for now, bye :)

Hong Kong!! Day 1 :D

Hello!
Posting again! Haven't been posting in a long long time because i was damn busy with my school projects and i'm always tired nowadays, but tomorrow's the last day of my projects!! YAY. Finally, left with one more project to complete and submit. But i'm not really optimistic about the results for this semester. I know i always say that, but this time round i think it's really gonna happen because i really find it hard to complete so many projects, with limited knowledge about the subject. I really REALLY will start paying attention in class next semester and chiong study like i did in semester 1. I JUST HOPE MY GPA DOESN'T DROP TOO MUCH.

Well, enough about that, i'm gonna post about my trip to HONG KONG last week!! YAY. First time going to Hong Kong and second time taking the plane, i'm gonna keep these memories on my blog. Okay, so on the first day, we had to wake up fucking early, i didn't get enough sleep as i had to finish my projects first(parts of the project), woke up at 3am, on Friday, showered, packed and left at house at 4.30am. We had to check in at around 5am because our flight was at 7. Here's some pictures of the plane view! I got the window seat!! HEHEH.
Take off from Changi Airport!! BYE SINGAPORE

HEHEHE SO NICE *.*
The plane ride wasn't all that good, the chair was a bit uncomfortable to sleep in, i was freaking tired and i had a long day ahead because my aunt planned the trip, packed with places to visit, things to do from the moment we step off the plane. Thought i could watch some movies, but the tv was broken, i couldn't get any channels on my screen. If i remember correctly, the flight i took to Hong Kong was Cathay Pacific CX650. Here's a video link of the plane: VIDEO

At least the food was good! GREAT OMELETTE
Well, at least the food they served was good! LOVED THE OMELETTE!! Too bad i couldn't eat too much since my aunt will be bringing us to eat after we got off the plane :(

After meal picture!
After the meal, i basically had nothing much to do since i can't watch the inflight entertainment and i had to save my phone battery for taking photos, i just listened to music and tried to sleep. HAHAH. Guess what, i didn't even sleep a wink on that flight. Guess that's what you get for flying economy.

Right after we checked into the hotel, we went for lunch at this near by restaurant (cafe), whatever they call it, to have lunch! Seriously, the food there tastes amazing, with huge portions, i had the roasted duck rice with a iced milk tea! Tastes really different from what we have in SG, but of course, the quality of the food comes with a price, if i remember, it's not that cheap eating there. HAHAH
ROASTED DUCK RICE!

THE ICED MILK TEA!!
Next after lunch, we took the MTR located right beneath our hotel!! We stayed at the Prudential Hotel, which my aunt said is a 4 star hotel! And the interior of the room lives up to the hotel's reputation! The location is convenient too for those going to Hong Kong without a tour group.

Here's the tram up The Peak!

Beautiful Scenery!!

We went to take a tram ride up to The Peak! AND IT WAS AMAZING! I've never taking a tram up a mountain before, so it was a first for me! And the view from the tram window was BEAUTIFUL as well, you can see the skyline of Hong Kong while going up the tram! But it was damn crowded! Had to queue and waited quite a while before we got on the tram and the people there are just plain rude, they push and shove just to get on the tram, how chaotic the scene was. I was lucky to even get a seat on the ride up.

After we finally got on top of The Peak, we went to the Madame Tussauds Hong Kong wax museum!! I was able to see real life sizes of actual famous people that i would never have gotten the chance to meet! Didn't take much photos because my phone was dying, and the only photo i have of the wax figures was Queen Elizabeth II's figure! LOOKS SO REAL RIGHT?! It's like you're seeing
her in person!!

TOOK A PIC WITH THE QUEEN~
Lastly, we enjoyed the sunset a top The Peak!! Although the whole day was fucking long and tiring, i had fun with my cousins, and was glad that my aunt brought me along! The breeze was cooling, the view was great, and i didn't regret one single bit coming to Hong Kong during my project period HAHAHA.

Sunset atop The Peak!

Tried to take a panorama, but failed HAHA

NIGHT VIEW OF HONG KONG CITY!!
Well, that's all for now, i've still got a few more pictures to post about, but i'll do so separately in different posts. HAHAH. Now i've gotta finish my report for tomorrow's last submission! Bye~
